This show’s 2013 cast included Muthoni Hunja, Mkamzee Chao Mwatela, Mo Pearson, Mũmbi Kaigwa, Hana Kefela, Njeri Ngũgĩ, Kawira Thambu, and Eudiah Kamonjo (Understudy). Music by Ricky Matthews Githinji, Sam Guchu Ngũgĩ, Ngare Mukiria.

The play, a twenty-part poem chronicling the lives of black females in the United States, was first produced Off-Broadway by Joseph Papp and then at the Booth Theatre on Broadway in 1975.
